I did non surgical weight loss through St. Bariatrics. I was over seen by Krystal Gilb in the office and did virtual visits. She was amazing and it was an overall awesome experience I’m so glad I chose the medication and she helped me through working hard to reach my goals. Even through the months I slowed down lol ! I also seen Olivia for dietitian and I actually enjoyed making lifestyle changes that bettered my life and created new habits. I found a new love of spinning and after 8 months lost 44 pounds. Couldn’t be happier with my experience and everything I learned for going forward. I feel amazing and confident! Thank you again !

This was the absolute best experience! All of the nurse, phlebotomist, even Dr. Snow. I researched Dr. Snow. He is a natural humanitarian. He's done work abroad too. He is a very humble man. You would be in great hands. The staff reminds me of Qtrip workers. They are always smiling and eager to help. Mercy got this right. They was cleaver. My journey began a few months ago and my surgery took place November 17th and I've never felt better. Efficient, straightforward, hardworking and kind are the best adjectives to describe Dr. Snow. His office staff, especially the patient advocates like Charity(I dealt with her the most, but others are great too), are phenomenal. Information given by Olivia is pretty straightforward and easily understood. First follow up was efficient and painless. They have their stuff down in that office. Dr Jay Snow and his treatment team are phenomenal!! Dr Snow completed my RNY Gastric Bypass in September 2021. The best decision I could have made for myself. Surgery was a breeze. I experienced minimal pain, actually minor soreness. I did not need the pain meds sent home with me. Best words of advice, follow the instructions, start eating clean before surgery and use the recommended products. Dr Snow is an expert in his field!!

I had gastric sleeve surgery on Dec. 30, 2021 with Dr. Snow and I would highly recommend him. I was originally seeing another Dr but due to COVID they shut their surgeries down. I had already met my deductible and so I called around and the staff at STL Bariatrics got me in and all my paperwork done so I could have the surgery by year end. I had many friends go to dr snow at STL bariatrics highly recommended him. I am an employee at Washington university so I had a consult there first, personal opinion I wasn’t really impressed with their consultation. I decided to reach out to dr snows office. The first appointment they took my before pictures, my weight, asked if I knew which procedure I was interested in and fully explained it. I did my requirements for surgery and was under the knife 7 months from the my initial consult date. Dr snow is personable and amazing at what he does. His staff are amazing. The staff at mercy festus were phenomenal! As of today I’m down 42.4 pounds and 12 weeks post op. I highly recommend a consult with his office if you are considering weight loss surgery, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Very few things in life meet my expectations but Dr Snow and St Louis Bariatrics far exceeded them. From the initial phone call to check into insurance coverage, to my first post op appointment everything was easy. The staff made the entire process comfortable and mostly painless. Olivia, the nutritionist, set me on the right path during our first visit and was always available to answer my numerous questions. Dr Snow was fantastic! His personality immediately put me at ease. He was thorough in his pre-op testing to ensure that this surgery was a safe option for me. The surgery was a breeze and I woke up to minimal discomfort, no nausea and 3 tiny incisions that most likely won’t even be noticeable down the road. I am more than pleased with his care and surgical skills. I would highly recommend him if you are looking into bariatric surgery. Dr. Snow and his staff are very caring and helpful. Any questions that I have had they will answer honestly and in a timely manner. They do not sugar coat what is going to go on with the procedure and what comes after. They will tell you that this is going to be a lot of hard work but that it can pay off if you put the work into it. That is exactly what I needed to hear. There could be some hard times, but they will help get you through. I have to say that this procedure is the best surgery I have had. The recovery time is minimal, and very little discomfort. I highly recommend Dr. Snow for your bariatric procedures

My experience with St. Louis Bariatrics was exceptional! Dr. Snow and all of his staff provided the best pre op care. Dietician Olivia gave me lots of the information I needed to learn new eating habits in preperation for post op. Doctor Snow is a great physician with funny bedside manner talks to you like you are human like a member of the family or a funny college friend you still hang with.. So impressed with the way things are going i am 2 weeks post op.. His staff is always right there for any questions that you may have very informative and treat you like family..I really couldn't say enough about my experience.. even the anesthesia group was outstanding... Everybody at that hospital registration my nurses there was not one person that I didn't enjoy being around... And that is saying something overall great experience...

I've had nothing but a positive experience with the sleeve surgery, Dr. Snow and office staff. It was easier with better results than I had anticipated by far. The only things I miss are my Pepsi and drinking while I eat. I was told I'd lose 60 lbs. I said that wasn't enough so I'd have to do more & I did by walking 3+ miles every day & have maintained approx. 80 lbs for 1.5 years & counting. I felt like I'd been trapped inside a fat suit that I just couldn't find the zipper to get out. Now, I'm the person I knew was in there all along. I just wish I hadn't waited so long.

I first meet Dr Snow at a seminar in March of 2019. It was meant to be because I was doing some research on Bariatrics surgery and found a seminar that same night. The seminar was at a hotel right across the street from my work. I signed up on- line and went. It was very informative and I decided to find out if my insurance company would pay for the surgery. It turned out they would pay for the majority of it and I had to have a 6 month supervised diet. The office staff is wonderful and helped me through every step I needed to get this surgery. I did the 6 months supervised diet and Olivia helped me through it step by step. She said I was above average because I lost weight every month and I should have no problem with the insurance company approval. I admit the 7 day pre-op diet is no picnic but I was off my diabetic medicine in 3 days. When I woke up from surgery I had no pain at all. I accredit this to the experience of Dr Snow. During the surgery he fixed a large hiatal hernia. I was out and about shopping two days after surgery to get my steps in. I have been mobile and pain free ever since surgery. I could have gone back to work the following Monday but I decided to give it a week. Dr. Snow is a great doctor and has your best interest at heart. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Like many - I have struggled with my weight from about the age of 9. By the time I was in my late 50s I realized my weight wasn't getting any easier to manage and to be frank it had gotten out of control. I was complaining about it all when friend recommended Dr. Snow and weight loss surgery. Long story - short. Dr. Snow and his staff are wonderful to work with, treat you with kindness and respect and prepare you in every way to understand what to expect and how easy and hard this lifestyle change will be. No doubt you can go anywhere if you're deciding if weight loss surgery is for you. I'll just say this - you can't though find a better doctor in Dr. Snow (who knows his stuff like none other), a better bariatric dietitian than with Olivia (helping you reestablish a relationship with food) or the wonderful office staff who make you feel like a person instead of just another number who happens to come through the door. If Festus isn't close to you then make the drive. It's totally worth it - it was for me. 60lbs lighter and I now have a way to keep it off - now that's priceless...

I’m in the process of having the sleeve gastrectomy done. I’m 5’2 252 lbs. this is the biggest I’ve ever been. Up until 2 years ago I never got bigger than 200 lbs but since my last c-section (4/4/16) I’ve just exploded. I was a surrogate and got depression really bad and got on a multitude of medications, started nursing school And a full time job so the pounds just crept on. I met with the surgeon on March 14th. Had my nutritionist appointment on March 19th, the psych consult on the 21st. My surgeon sent Everything to my insurance April 3rd and I got my approval on Friday April 6th! I’m having the endoscope procedure done on the 20th of this month and that’s as far as I’ve gotten so far. Btw I have BcBs of South Carolina but I live in Illinois. Updated on 22 Apr 2018: So I’ve done the endoscope and everything with that was good. My pre-op apt is the 23rd. I just want to hurry and get it over with. I’m on day 3 of clear liquids and I’m sooooo HANGRY. I’ve had headaches all day since day 1 of the diet. (I’m prone to migraines) please let the next week fly by! Updated on 1 May 2018: So I had the sleeve yesterday morning and was in so much pain I didn’t want to do anything. Dr said everything went great. I’m Not hungry at all I barely want to drink water and the only reason I do is because how muc love you my thoat hurts. So last week at my 1 week pre op appt I weighed in at 252 lbs. yesterday morning before surgery I weighed 238 do I lost 14 lbs from the clear liquid diet. Updated on 19 Aug 2018: It’s now been almost 4 months post sleeve, I’ve followed my diet very well, due to work and school I didn’t start exercising until 1 month ago. Today I’m 184 lbs starting weight 252. I’ve scheduled a tummy tuck for December 17th and hope to reach my goal weight of 140 by then.

I had gastric sleeve (vertical sleeve gastrectomy) surgery in mid-2017. I've lost 80 lbs. and am thrilled with my results. Dr. Snow is awesome; I liked him from the first consultation. Dr. Snow has excellent beside manner, is very caring, listens to what you're saying, and answers all questions in a straightforward way. His team at the office and surgery center are great, too. Kelsi, his receptionist, could be a little friendlier, but other than that, it's all good! I highly recommend him.

Dr. Snow and his staff are the best. He is very knowledgeable and warm. Makes you feel like you are important - and human! (many of us with weight issues have not always received this feeling). He was very knowledgeable and down to earth. I had surgery on 8/24, just a little over 5 months ago, and am down 104 pounds. I had gastric sleeve surgery. The whole process was amazing. The little surgery center where the procedure is done and you stay the night was AMAZING - and you are there with others who have also had bariatric procedures done the same day - you see each other in the halls and it is a very friendly atmosphere. I had surgery on a Wednesday and returned to my sedentary job the following Tuesday with no problems at all. What a Godsend! Thank you Dr. Snow and all your staff!!!!

My husband and I had the sleeve done March 2014 with Dr. Snow. From the very beginning, during the seminar, we felt comfortable with Dr. Snow and we're ready to take the next step. I was worried and scared, but I appreciated that Dr. Snow treated me with respect and was a real person! We had people close to us go to consults with other doctors in the area and it was amazing anything else could fit in the exam room with their ego. Dr. Snow was down to earth and funny. He didn't make us feel ashamed or guilt us with facts about morbid obesity. I think it was one of the first times I've ever walked out of a doctors office not feeling horrible because of how large I was and how much weight I needed to lose. Dr Snow and the staff also were very forthcoming about the surgery being a tool and not a fix all. I feel they prepared us for the reality of what the surgery can do, but that we had to do our part as well. My husband has lost 150lbs and was able to have to major corrective orthopedic procedures due to the weight loss! I have lost 100lbs and am able to do exercises and activities I had stayed away from for fear of embarrassment. Our quality of life has increased dramatically and it's so cliché to say, but we really wish we had done it sooner. We waited 3 years before finally finding Dr. Snow and his team. I'm so glad we did! Dr. Snow has totally changed my life. I was a couch potato that worked and came home and sat around. I ate terribly and ended up at 314 pounds. I had the gastric sleeve done about 6 weeks ago. It has already changed my life. The surgery was easy, post op was easy and my recovery was fast. I did not experience any pain. I went home with pain and nausea medication and I never opened the bottles. It was the best thing I ever did and I wish I would've done it a lot sooner. I'm 65 and I thought it would be more difficult for me but I couldn't have been more wrong. Dr. Snow is a great doctor and is very caring. Dr. Snow is amazing, he truly cares for his patients even going as far as personally calling you back to discuss and explain any questions you have. I had my surgery in July 2015, being in the medical field I had seen the aftermath of some bariatric procedures so to say I was a bit nervous would be an understatement, in his office we talked over options and when I got home more questions came to my mind, I felt comforted and reassured when it was him who returned my call so we could figure out my plan. We decided the sleeve procedure would be the best option personally for me, I am happy to report that in 10 months I am now down 164 pounds as of today! Every office visit for follow up since the surgery Dr. Snow has been nothing but encouraging, even when I felt I had hit a plateau he assured me I was doing everything right and made suggestions for even more success!! Follow his plan, listen to his advice, and be 100% honest with yourself and him and you will be successful with your weight loss!! I am able to do things I had not done in 10 years like actually take the stairs at work, complete my work without having to take a rest due to back pain, keep up with my kids running! This is truly a life saving and life changing procedure!

Dr. Snow is a wonderful doctor. The nurses were awesome before and after my Gastric Sleeve procedure. After going home no pain meds or nausea meds. This has been a wonderful success. Surgery was on December 21 and now January 11 down 30 pounds still no pain, no regrets. Need to get the exercise up some, but all in all it is wonderful. I am two days post-op and could not be happier with how it has gone so far. I wouldn't have had Dr. Snow do the procedure if I didn't feel he was a great surgeon - which he is. His staff is very helpful and the surgery center they utilize is wonderful.

After doing extensive research on local physicians specializing in Bariatric Surgery I decided to sign up for one of Dr. Snow's educational seminars. After meeting Dr. Snow and sitting through the seminar I knew that this was the physician I was looking for. He has an extensive knowledge about all surgeries and what they entail, he answered all questions and what was very important to me, was that he had a great demeanor and sense of humor. His office staff is knowledgeable as well and make the whole experience that much better. Dr. Snow is a great option no matter which bariatric surgery you are looking at and I highly recommend that you check out one of his seminars.

Dr. Snow and his staff are the BEST!!!! They are very caring and made me feel very comfortable with the decision I was making. He makes you feel like family not just another number and takes the time to answer all of your questions. Dr. Snow and his staff are wonderful! I put off bariatric surgery for many years out of fear. Dr. Snow made me feel completely comfortable and that I had made the right choice. He takes as much time to explain things as is necessary, and does so with a warm, friendly manner. I'm VERY pleased with my surgery, and wish I'd gone to Dr. Snow sooner. The office staff is also very caring, and works hard to make sure that everything is done according to each insurance company's rules.

I've had an excellent experience with HOAB! The staff is very helpful, and Katie was my patient advocate. The staff worked with my insurance company to get the approval for my surgery. Dr. Snow presented the seminar that I went to first. I came away from there very confident in his ability. And he has continued to make me feel safe in my decision to have the sleeve procedure. He has always been very willing to answer any questions I have had and is always willing to take the time to just listen if that is what I need at the time. Thank you HOAB and Dr Snow!!

I found the right practice after attending the educational seminar Dr. Snow and his staff put on. I could not wait to get my first appointment to begin my new journey. Dr. Snow is very compassionate and has one of the warmest bedside manors I have ever experienced with a dr. Dr Snow is very through and down to earth. He will answer all your questions and explain things on layman terms which put me at ease. Dr. Snow's staff is very helpful as well.They walk you through from start to finish. I could not of asked for a better practice to help me with my weight loss journey.

I LIKED THE WAY I WAS TREATED THE FIRST TIME I TALKED TO STAFF ON THE PHONE AND MY FIRST VISIT. YOU ARE TREATED LIKE A PERSON NOT A NUMBER. DR. SNOW HAS CHANGED MY LIFE WITH MY GASTRIC SURGERY. I HAVE NO MORE ACID REFLUX, AND WEIGHT IS COMING OFF. I COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR BETTER CARE BEFORE AND AFTER SURGERY. HE TAKES HIS TIME WITH YOU AND ANSWERS ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. IF YOU THINK OF QUESTIONS LATER AFTER A VISIT ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CALL. HE EXPLAINS THING IN ENGLISH NOT DOCTOR'S LANGUAGE. HE MADE ME FEEL SO AT EASE, LIKE TALKING TO AN OLD FRIEND. I CAN SAY MY CARE WAS AND CONTINUES TO BE THE BEST BY FAR. WHEN I CAME TO DR. SNOW, I WAS DESPERATE FOR I HAD TRIED EVERYTHING AND NOTHING WORKED. HE HAS FIXED THE PROBLEM. HOAB is number one in my book! The office staff and Dr Snow are all understanding people. A big thank you to Katie my patient advocate who never gave up with the insurance. Dr Snow is great as well and has super sense of humor! The office overall was always professional and was very informative so I was able to make an educated decision about which surgery I wanted. I would refer anyone considering bariatric surgery to go to one of HOAB's seminars. The staff at the surgery center were also great! I would rate my experience a "10" on a scale of 1-10
