How has weight loss changed your life?
Over the past 18 months, all of my medical “pre” conditions/comorbidities are gone as well as a lot of knee, back, and hip pain I’ve always suffered. Plus the little things- I no longer need to worry about if I will need a seat belt extender on the airplane; or if I will fit in the seat at the Muny or ball park; or if my hips/thighs will keep adjusting my recliner at the movie theatre!
But the most impactful change has been that I am now able to get doctors to listen to me. Going to the doctor previously nearly always resulted in the ” if you lost weight, that wouldn’t be a problem” conversation. Instead. tests are now actually ordered and some legit things have been discovered and resolved. I feel SEEN by specialists now, and even if all the fun new clothes, better sleep, and increased energy weren’t a thing, that piece was worth the surgery.
What goals have you been able to reach since your weight loss?
1.) I got into and actually surpassed all of my “I *will* get back into these again” outfits
2.) I surpassed the goals set at the time of my surgery, and that made me feel GREAT
3.) I was able to get off my CPAP machine
4.) I am able to be out and about on my feet all day and not need to “take a break” or ” slow down a bit”
