Meet Jay Michael Snow, MD, FASMBS
Dr. Jay Michael Snow is dedicated to helping patients achieve lasting weight loss success. He is well known for his exceptional surgical skills, compassionate bedside manner, and patient-centered approach. A highly experienced bariatric surgeon, Dr. Snow has changed more than 11,000 lives throughout his career.
He specializes in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, offering patients shorter recovery times and fewer complications. Dr. Snow consistently treats the whole person, showing deep respect and care for each patient’s physical, emotional, and personal journey. He founded St. Louis Bariatrics with the mission of empowering patients to take an active role in their health and wellness.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Snow is an avid outdoorsman with a special passion for waterfowl hunting. He is a proud member of St. Justin the Martyr Catholic Church and a dedicated fan of University of Missouri athletics, the St. Louis Cardinals, the St. Louis City SC, and the St. Louis Blues. Above all, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Colleen, and their four sons.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Fitness from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
- Medical Degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia
- Completed his general surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma
- Completed a fellowship in Bariatric Surgery at the Minnesota Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery, which is the only fellowship in the country to be triple accredited in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Bariatrics, and Flexible Endosurgery.

- Dr. Snow has given multiple presentations at Society meetings and has been published in peer-reviewed medical literature.
